Connecting Your Stripe Account

Before you can collect a payment in Loyva, you have to connect a Stripe account. Loyva uses Stripe Connect (Standard), so funds settle directly into your own Stripe balance and payout to your bank. Loyva never holds your money.

What you need

  • A Stripe account (existing or new, you can create one during the connection flow).

  • Admin access to your Loyva organization.

  • Your business details: legal entity name, EIN/tax ID, bank account for payouts.

Connecting from Loyva

  1. Go to Settings β†’ Billing β†’ Stripe Connect.

  2. Click Connect Stripe Account. You'll be redirected to Stripe.

  3. Sign in to an existing Stripe account, or create a new one inline.

  4. Complete Stripe's onboarding form (business info, owners, bank account).

  5. When Stripe sends you back to Loyva, the connection is live.

What "Connected" means

Once connected, you'll see a green status badge in Settings. Loyva checks the account status on load and shows clear states: Not connected, Onboarding incomplete, Restricted (Stripe needs more info), or Connected. If Stripe asks for additional documents, the card surfaces a button that takes you straight back to Stripe to finish.

Test vs. live mode

Loyva mirrors whichever mode your Stripe account is in. Use test mode and Stripe's test card numbers to dry-run an invoice flow before going live.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect Stripe from the same Settings tab. Disconnecting stops new invoices and subscriptions from being created. Existing Stripe data (customers, past invoices, payouts) stays in your Stripe dashboard untouched.

Note: You must use a Standard Secret Key, not a Restricted Key. Restricted Keys don't carry the Connect permissions Loyva needs.
