Stripe Connect: Setup and Reset
Stripe Connect is what lets Loyva charge your customers on your behalf. This article covers the initial connection and how to reset it if something goes sideways.
Initial setup
Open Settings β Integrations as an Admin.
Click Connect Stripe.
Loyva creates a Standard Connect account link and redirects you to Stripe.
Complete Stripe's onboarding: business details, bank account, identity verification.
Stripe returns you to Loyva. The card shows your account status: Active, Pending verification, or Restricted.
Account states
Active: charges enabled, payouts enabled. Ready to bill.
Pending: Stripe is still verifying. You can finish onboarding by clicking Continue onboarding.
Restricted: Stripe needs more info or has flagged the account. Click through to Stripe to resolve.
Required key type
Note: Stripe Connect requires a Standard Secret Key, not a Restricted Key. Restricted keys lack the Connect endpoints Loyva needs and will fail with permission errors.
Reset the connection
If the Stripe account is in a stuck state, for example you onboarded the wrong entity, or the test/live mode is wrong, use Reset Stripe Connection.
Open Settings β Integrations.
On the Stripe card, click the menu and choose Reset Connection.
Loyva clears the stored account ID and you can connect a fresh Stripe account.
Note: Resetting does not delete your Stripe account or any past charges. It only unlinks Stripe from Loyva. Invoices and subscriptions that were already created in Stripe continue to live in Stripe.
