Template Thumbnail Previews
Every document template shows a thumbnail of the first page so you can scan the library visually instead of reading filenames.
How thumbnails are generated
When you upload or replace a template document, DocuSeal renders the first page as an image. Loyva proxies that image through an edge function and serves it with a signed URL.
Why we proxy
DocuSeal thumbnail URLs expire, proxying lets us regenerate signed URLs on demand.
Some browsers block cross-origin image loads (ORB). Serving from our edge function avoids this.
We can apply caching and rate-limiting rules.
Refreshing a thumbnail
If a thumbnail looks stale (e.g. after replacing the source PDF), open the template and save it once. Loyva re-requests the rendered page from DocuSeal and updates the proxy.
Note: Thumbnails are visual aids only. The authoritative content is always the PDF itself.
