Creating a Proposal

Proposals in Loyva are built in four tabs: Details, Pricing, Terms, and Preview. You can save your work at any point and come back to it later.

Start a new proposal

  1. Open Proposals from the sidebar (or open a client and use the Proposals tab).

  2. Click + New Proposal.

  3. Pick the client this proposal is for.

  4. Give the proposal a clear internal name (e.g. "Acme: 12 cameras + monitoring").

Details tab

Enter the basics: proposal title shown to the client, an optional summary or scope description, and any cover-page details. The client's name and address flow in automatically from the client record.

Pricing tab

  • Add line items for everything you're quoting:

    • Item name and optional description

    • Quantity, unit price, and discount

    • Mark items as one-time or recurring (RMR). Recurring items roll up into monthly recurring revenue.

  • Group items into sections if the proposal is long

  • Use the Pricing Library to insert pre-priced items quickly instead of typing them in. Totals, taxes, and recurring subtotals are calculated for you as you type.

Terms tab

Add the contract language: scope, payment terms, cancellation, warranty, and anything else the client must agree to. You can start from a Terms Template so you don't have to rewrite the same paragraphs every time.

Preview tab

The Preview shows exactly what the client will see; your branding, the cover page, line items, pricing summary, and terms. Variables like {{Client Name}} are replaced with the real values here, so this is the right place to spot-check the document before sending.

Save and send

Click Save to keep it as a draft, or jump straight to Send Proposal when you're ready (see the separate article on sending).

Note: You can edit any tab at any time before the proposal is sent. Once it's been accepted or declined, the document is locked.
