How to use the Vault

The Vault is Loyva's tamper-evident storage for signed contracts. Each vaulted document is split into two: a green Authoritative Copy (the legal original under UCC Β§ 9-105) and a blue Copy for everyday sharing. Access is PIN-protected per user and every view, download, and print is logged.

How to use the Vault

  1. Set your personal Vault PIN in Settings β†’ Vault PIN (required on first access β€” 5 failed attempts locks the vault for 15 minutes).

  2. Open Vault in the sidebar and enter your PIN to unlock the session.

  3. Browse contracts by client. Each completed envelope shows the Authoritative Copy, the Copy, and an Audit Log entry.

  4. Use View or Download on the Copy (blue badge) to share with clients or staff. Authoritative Copies can be viewed only β€” never downloaded or printed.

  5. To release an original (e.g., assignment or termination), use Vault Out β€” this re-masks sensitive fields and logs the action.

FAQ

Q: Why can't I download the Authoritative Copy?
A: UCC Β§ 9-105 requires a single controlled original. Use the Copy for any download, print, or share.

Q: Custodians say they can't download β€” is that a bug?
A: No. Custodians can view Authoritative Copies but not download them. Use the Copy instead.

Q: Who can see the audit log?
A: Org admins, via the Reports β†’ Audit tab and the per-document audit entry in the Vault.
