Create a template

1. Go to Templates in the sidebar.

2. Click + New Template and upload the PDF (or PNG/JPG).

3. Give the template a name, description, and tags so it's easy to find.

4. Define roles instead of specific people ( e.g. "Customer", "Co-signer", "Witness"). When you apply the template later, you map real signers to these roles.

Place fields

Drag fields from the palette onto the document. Every field belongs to a role.

Available field types

• Signature: full signature capture (drawn, typed, or uploaded).

• Initials: short initial capture, useful for per-page acknowledgement.

• Date signed: auto-filled with the date the signer completes.

• Text: free-text input; supports validation (email, number, regex).

• Checkbox: single toggle for opt-in or acknowledgement.

• Radio buttons: grouped choice where exactly one option must be picked. Add the group, then place each option on the document; the signer can only pick one.

• Dropdown: pick one from a list of options you define.

• Attachment: signer uploads a supporting file (ID, insurance certificate, etc.).

• Payment: collects payment as part of signing (requires Stripe Connect).

Prefill fields from the sidebar

Standard prefill fields (client name, address, email) appear in the sidebar and stay consistent across templates so the same merge values flow in every time.

Apply a template

1. Open a client and choose Apply Template, or pick a template inside the Send for Signature dialog.

2. Map each role to a real signer (name + email).

3. Review the document and the placed fields, adjust if needed.

4. Send.

Editing and versioning

1. Editing a template doesn't change envelopes that have already been sent.

2. Use tags and categories so reps find the right template fast.

3. Archive templates you no longer use instead of deleting, to keep history intact.

Note: Template thumbnails are generated automatically. If a thumbnail looks stale after editing, Loyva regenerates it on the next view.
