Collecting Payment During Signing

You don't have to wait until after the contract is signed to ask for money. Loyva can attach an invoice to a signature request so the customer pays as part of the same flow that gets the contract done.

When to use this

  • Activation or installation fees due before work begins.

  • First month + setup on a new monitoring agreement.

  • Equipment deposits at the time of contract signature.

How it works

  1. Build the contract from a signed proposal or template.

  2. In the envelope builder, open the Payment section and choose Collect payment on signing.

  3. Pick the line items to charge now (one-time, recurring, or a mix from the proposal).

  4. Send the envelope. The signer steps through eSign consent β†’ fields β†’ signature β†’ payment.

  5. Stripe processes the charge on your Connect account. The contract completes only after the payment succeeds.

What the signer sees

After signing, the signer is taken to a Stripe-hosted checkout that's branded with your business name. They can pay by card or ACH. Once payment succeeds, they're returned to Loyva and the envelope is marked complete.

If payment fails

The contract is held in a signed, payment pending state. The signer can retry, or you can resend a payment link from the envelope. Once they pay, the contract moves to completed and is vaulted as usual.

Note: Recurring charges set up here become a Stripe subscription tied to the signed contract. See Managing subscriptions from a signed contract.
